Summer holidays 2017 – Part 2 (Eastern Europe)

Alone or with your friends, who has never wanted to do a little roadtrip in Europe? Who has never wanted to take his backpack and visit several countries?

Better, what if I tell you that we can do all this with less than 100 euros in transportations? What impossible? I’ll tell you here the little story of my trip visiting : Berlin (Germany), Krakow (Poland), Budapest (Hongerie), Zadar (Croatia), in two weeks with my friend Soufiane 🙂

Berlin – Germany:

Monday 17 July 2017: Early morning departure from Strasbourg to Berlin for a 3-hour transfer to Heidelberg, just the time to take a break and discover this beautiful city. After, we took the bus to arrive at night in the German capital.

Heidelberg – Germany

Tuesday, July 18, 2017: We Wake up, had breakfast at the youth hostel. Then, visit of the city, we’ve been to:

In the evening, we meet an old Berlin friend and finish the day with a night stroll to take night photos of Berlin.

Brandenburg Gate – Berlin

Wednesday, July 19, 2017: This day we decided to rent bikes, we take the opportunity to visit the:

Templhofer Feld – Berlin

In the evening we meet my friend from Berlin and his friends and we end the evening in a nice bar.

Krakow – Poland:

Thursday 20 July 2017: Early departure to Krakow. We had 7 hours of bus to finally arrive late in the afternoon. Again, during the evening we just went for a little night stroll in the city. First shock the coast of living is really low.

Friday, July 21, 2017: Little breakfast at a bakery in town then walked to discover the city center and the Jordana Park . This day, it was raining a lot so we couldn’t see a lot of things.

Saturday, July 22, 2017: Being our last day in Krakow, this day we decided to rent bicycles to discover places that we could not see the days before. We’ve been to:

Zalew Zakrzówek – Krakow

Then, we swam in  Zalew Zakrzówek (photo above), before going back to the city for a last stroll before returning to the hostel and prepare for the next day’s trip.

Budapest – Hungary:

Sunday, July 23, 2017: Woke up, had breakfast at the hostel, then we went to Budapest. We arrived early in the evening, then we had dinner and then out to a bar in town with friends freshly met at the hostel.

Monday, July 24, 2017: Woke up around noon (for obvious reasons), had breakfast at the hostel and then left to discover the:

Hungarian Parliament – Budapest

Tuesday, July 25, 2017: For our last day in Budapest, we went to discover the rest of the monuments we wanted to visit and which were:

Zadar – Croatia:

Wednesday, July 26, 2017: Woke up early this time to go to our last destination which is Zadar in Croatia. After 8 hours by bus passing through Zagreb, we finally arrived early in the evening and again having nothing in mind (we wanted to visit) we just had a stroll in the city ^^

I strongly advise everyone to visit Zadar, it is a very beautiful city. Only downside is the number of tourists who visit, not surprising given the beauty of the city, but try to go out of high season, your experience will only be better.

Thursday, July 27, 2017: After our little trip filled with adventure, what better than a relaxed day? That day we decide to go to the beach of Nîn, close, accessible by bus and absolutely sublime.

Friday, July 28, 2017: This day we decided to visit to the Plitvice Lakes National Park. For those who have never heard of it, it is a park that I absolutely recommend to everyone to go to, the landscapes are breathtaking.

Plitvice – Croatia

Late in the afternoon, we went back to the city and we just decided to go for a little swim near the sea organ of the city (organ making music thanks to the waves) and this at the time of the sunset. Without doubt I can tell you that this was the most magical experience I’ve had this summer.

Sunset – Zadar

Saturday, July 29, 2017: For our last day in Croatia before going back to France, we made a tour of the city and spend the afternoon at the beach. (Punta Bajlo)

Sunday, July 30, 2017: Last day in croatia 🙁 I’ll certainly keep great souvenirs from this trip. And, to tell you what has encouraged me the most to go for it is that now you can buy tickets with Flixbus for 100€ offering 5 destinations in Europe (check the available cities). So if traveling in the bus doesn’t bother you, go for it !!! 😉
