Little CityTrip discovering Portugal 🇵🇹

How many times have you thought of visiting Portugal? How many times have you thought of taking those 18th century Portuguese tramways? Or better to taste those absolutely delicious Portuguese pastries? If you still hesitate I strongly encourage you to go there, you really won’t regret it! Maybe even this article will put this destination at the top of your bucketlist !!!

For me, I was tempted to visit Portugal for a long time but it’s only during this spring of 2018 that (finally) had the chance to go visit. Especially after that I came across a ticket to Porto for 60 euros !!! Well, there I couldn’t hesitate anymore😀

Porto:

After a two hours 45 minutes flight, we arrived to Porto. So, we took the opportunity visit the city at night and have dinner in this nice little restaurant: O Ràpido

The next day, we leftfor a tour in the city to discover:

Porto – old town

Then in the afternoon, we had a picnic / lunch at the Fountain of Virtues . For picnic lovers, it is a nice garden that offers a beautiful view of the Duoro river that crosses Porto.

In the evening you will love walking on the Quai de la Ribeira, passing by the Pont Dom-Luís bridge and on the docks on the other side of the Duoro.

Porto – Douro River

Otherwise for beach lovers, there are a lot of great beaches not far from Porto. Here are the ones we discovered:

Lisbon:

The next day, we decide to go to discover the capital of Portugal. Located three hours by car from Porto, we took the time to stop on the way to see the beautiful beaches of Sao Jacinto and Praia do Osso da Baleia.

Arrived in Lisbon, we just enjoyed freestyle walking in the city at night.

The next day, we went to discover the city, we have been to:

Lisbon – Belem Tower

After, we had lunch at the small restaurant of As zebras de combro. Then, we went to take one of the best ice creams in the world at Mú – Gelato Italiano that we enjoyed at a nice little park nearby ( address ). Then we left to enjoy the beautiful panoramic view of the city from Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcântara .

In the evening, we decided to have dinner at the restaurant Sol e Pesca and we walked to the pier Cais das Pombas to enjoy the beautiful view it offers in the evening.

The next day, we went to the Miradouro da Nossa Senhora do Monte to enjoy the beautiful panoramic view that it offers of city. After, we stoped at a nice restaurant for a small snack Graça do Vinho. Then, we went to visit the nice little market of Feira da Ladra .

For our last day in Lisbon, we finally visited the Statue of Christ the King and enjoyed the view of the famous bridge of April 25th (yes yes the one that looks like the Golden Gate Bridge !!!).

Lisbon – 25th of April Bridge

After, we went to visit Cabo da Roca for those who do not know what it is. It is the most western point of Europe. Then, we left for a small improvised hike to the beach of Ursa .

After, we left for a small visit of  São Martinho/Sintra and see the National Sintra Palace. If you are hungry, I strongly suggest you go to the famous bakery (and coffee) of  Piriquita  and try their famous Queijadas😉

Then, back to lisbon, we had dinner at Petiscos no Bairro.
